Agreement with IT Services Powerhouse Expands Use of Surety’s AbsoluteProof in South Korea and among Samsung Subsidiaries Worldwide
Surety, LLC, the leading provider of data integrity solutions, today announced a reseller agreement with large Korean-based IT services company Samsung SDS. Under the agreement, Samsung SDS will integrate Surety’s AbsoluteProof digital time-stamping service into third-party electronic record archive systems to Seal electronic documents sent to them by its Samsung subsidiaries.
The time-stamping and content authentication of AbsoluteProof helps Samsung and its operating companies comply with a 2006 Korean regulation aimed at reducing the amount of paper used in the country while saving Korea’s limited natural resources. The regulation, called the Certified e-Document Authority (CeDA), sets out parameters for the protection of electronic records in order to promote the use of electronic documents and simplify business processes by going paperless. Samsung SDS, Korea’s third appointed largest operator for CeDA, is working to convert large-scale archives into electronic records to preserve natural resources and streamline processes for Korean organizations. Using Surety’s AbsoluteProof, Samsung SDS will be able to prove that electronic documents have not been altered or tampered at any point during their lifecycle, thus ensuring content authenticity and providing enhanced peace of mind.
As a subsidiary of Samsung Group, the world’s second-largest conglomerate, Samsung SDS holds the largest market share of Korea’s IT service providers and aims to be the world’s premier integrated IT service provider by 2010. Through the partnership, Samsung SDS and Surety will work together to co-market, integrate and implement Surety’s AbsoluteProof data integrity service to end users and CeDA providers in South Korea and to Samsung SDS affiliates worldwide, including Samsung and Samsung Electronics.
“The partnership between Surety and Samsung SDS is indicative of a significant global trend. As more organizations around the world take advantage of the benefits of the paperless office, the need for data-level integrity controls continues to increase,” said Tom Klaff, CEO, Surety, LLC. “By partnering with an IT services industry leader like Samsung SDS, we are enabling a broad range of organizations to protect electronic records with the most stringent content authentication method available. The combination of Samsung SDS’s IT services experience and offerings with Surety’s AbsoluteProof protection will make the transition from paper to electronic records an easy and secure one for customers.
